During my high school days we always have a special day where all students needs to go to school just to clean around and one of the requirements is to bring a scythe, no scythe no grade. Sometimes no scythe means grades deduction like instead you are going to get 100% you will instead get 90%, well those are the days.

On college I have noticed our school administration hired people to cut the grass occasionally when they are already full grown and instead of using scythe they’re using petrol grass cutter which is perfect for cleaning large lawns or areas.

Using petrol grass cutter is a big advantage than cutting the grass the traditional way, it save time and less work. They are also easy to use because you can navigate it on your own as it has no wire unlike the electrical one. You won’t worry anymore about electric cable and using extension you can just drag petrol lawnmower to any place you want to be cleaned and trimmed.

My aunt  house is under renovation they transferred their living room to the right part of their house and they make the old living room as a bed room.  As what I know there’s someone who told them that they should transfer the bedroom to the left because it receives a lot of negative energy as it is the first thing you can see when you enter their gate and maybe that’s the reason why my cousins are always sick.

So when they saved enough money they start the renovation hoping that negative energy will disappear.

That’s the latest trends among our neighborhood, few of my relatives already built wall around their house. For me it feels like the people living around the community are not related and it is not a friendly neighborhood.  Anyway one of my cousin built a wall in their house because they are afraid that rebels might attacked them because her husband is a soldier and anyway I found out that building wall around the house  is not because of the unfriendly neighborhood it is because of the water. Yeah every time it rains there’s a flood around our neighborhood since they built irrigation, the water overflowed so to avoid the water destruction they decided to encircle their houses with walls.

Today is general election day in Korea so most of the locals has no work, early this morning I was awaken when the family  living in the second floor came home. It sounds like the father is drunk, he shouted and then he started punching the metal door of  the electric meter’s. I have heard her wife and daughter trying to stop him while they are opening the main door, when they reached their apartment room I can hear the loud foot steps on our ceiling. It sounds like the father keeps banging anything, based on my analysis the father was picked up by her wife and daughter in one of the hof around the town and he maybe didn’t like it.

Now I know why soundproofing the floor is a must when you are living in apartment doors, it is to avoid disturbances when you are sleeping.  As what I have read soundproofing floors is not a complicated idea. You just need something between the hard flooring and the rest of the house to absorb noise.

Mostly we just old clothes or towel as rugs, it is cheaper than buying rugs every time they become useless and too dirty to wash. There are times no matter how you washed the rugs the brown stain can’t be removed anymore anyway you can make your home stylish by using rugs that will complement the color of your living room. Rugs is the firs thing your visitor can see when he enter in your living room.

We’re not able to sleep well last night. It is too bright inside our room, the garage light is on and our neighbor’s light is also on all night until morning, dunno what are they doing. We already plan to buy window blinds for our window but thinking that the landlord will not like it if we put hole or tear his wallpaper it stop us from buying it.

Last night I finalized  a plan. I am going to bring curtains here in our apartment once I went home in the Philippines, we have old curtains at home that can be used here. I am just going to buy hangers that can be stick to the wooden frame of our window instead of using concrete nails in our wall.

One of our neighbor in the Philippines built their house in the middle of the fields, it looks  like a rest house which looks very refreshing during summer.  Most of the materials they used are bamboo shoots, coconut leaves and lumber. It is a two story house  with stairs to the second floor and  what make their house more attractive is their beautiful  flower garden on their backyard.  The only problem is too much light during day time because it is built in an open place, the curtains are not enough when it is windy, I think they should use bamboo shade on their window.  There are bamboo shades or commonly called bamboo blinds that are cheap and affordable that will match their entire decoration.

Few months ago the door handle of the ladies locker room in the gym was accidentally locked inside and the key is cannot be found. So the owner call someone to fix it, when the guy arrived it took him 30 minutes to remove and changed the door handle  into a new one. Some of the ladies patiently waited in the receiving area while the guy is tweaking the door I am just too lucky that we are still doing cardio so I don’t need to wait  until his finished.

No matter how careful the guy was there still cracked left in the wooden door. The locker room is now using a round door knob which can mostly found in classical homes. Like most product we are using on our daily living  door handles also come to variety of styles and purposes. The common use is to protect our home from thief and  burglar, other people uses them as decoration.

My family already bought few materials that is needed to start the construction of our house except for cement because cement will be hard as stone if left unattended.  I need to send more online earnings home and  we can maybe begin the construction. Our house is a semi-concrete half of the foundation is made from hollow blocks but the rest are woods which was already eaten by termites and the roof is  galvanized iron like what mostly houses in the Philippines are made of. The sad part we need to tear our house and build  a new one few meters away from it because my uncle own the piece of land where our house is standing.

We are planning to build a two story house if  money forbid because it is the best we can do. We can’t build a larger house because the land is not enough.  Anyway if we’ve finished building our dream house buying furniture is next and I would love to have a small garden in our front yard where we can plant flowers in a pot and have a little space to rest maybe a swing  from Adirondack furniture  will be great I have heard they have  the best furniture for outdoors like table and chairs. I should browse their collection to look for the perfect swing I have in my mind.
