Moving Boxes

In few weeks we are going to move into  a new apartment, my husband transferred to another school and  we have to move closed to his work place. It was a week ago since we started collecting big boxes from Lotte Super, we already have a few and last night we planned to get more so while my husband is shopping for freeze chicken breast I am busy undoing the box, there’s only one big box left and it turns out too they are out of chicken.

So we decided to go to Emart Everyday to find if they have the chicken we want, on the way I found a large box. When I look inside it is empty, the box is not a normal box it is a type of box which is normally use in shipping fragile items.  I took it but it was too large to carry and it might be shameful if I am carrying a large box to Emart Everyday so we decided that I should go home with the box and my husband will go alone to Emart Everyday.

On the way near the Dunkin Donuts I saw a file of boxes it was probably from Hang Ten or Watsons, their new stock probably arrived. As much as I want to stop I didn’t do it anymore because it is already hard for me to carry the large box and other people might thought I am a garbage picker.

Collecting used big or large boxes from the supermarket is more economical than buying moving boxes, our new apartment is not going to be that far anyway, it is around 4-5 kilometers from where are living but of course we are still going to hire a truck for moving.

Points to Consider when Painting your House

My cousin is planning to have their house painted because it gives more positive aura and happy surrounding. As we can see most houses and subdivisions are painted in colorful color or contemporary style.

Painting a house is not as easy as what you think, you should pay attention to two key points. The first thing you should take note is quality of the paint, given the choice we would probably choose the highest quality paints but most of the times we go with our budget because quality paints are expensive than the low quality ones. With that we missed the point that high quality paints will last longer time than the low quality paints, in short we cant get the value of the money we spent.

If you are not an expert on doing painting job you should hire someone who is professional in this area because the quality of application to your house is important too.

The Do-It-Yourselfer’s Guide to Building a Shed With a Steel Building Kit

If you are looking for an extra space to house your tools or perhaps a small room where you can  spend more time tinkering your vehicle, then it is likely that you would like to have a new shed built within the confines of your property. However, as with any other type of construction, building a new shed from the ground up is not only time-consuming; it can also be costly especially if you are thinking of using premium quality materials. The good news is that you can still have a new shed built without necessarily spending a lot of cash and time. With a steel building kit, you can actually get an inexpensive, yet durable shed.

As its name suggests, a steel building kit or prefab steel frame building differs from other kinds of construction materials as its components are built completely off site. This means that there is very minimal construction needed to have the structure built in place. In fact, the only construction involved on the building site is the laying of foundation – usually a concrete slab – where the structure will stand.

Because a steel building kit is completely designed with ease of assembly in mind, you can actually build most of the part of the shed without employing the service of a professional contractor, except for the foundation. Here’s a simple guide how you can erect your shed using a steel building kit.

Foundation

A leveled and properly laid foundation is one of the most crucial aspect to having a durable steel shed. Hence, start by looking for a spot within your property that has a level surface that is large enough for the shed you would like to build. While all steel building kits come with the necessary information and drawings as to where and how you should set the anchor bolts of the structure, the process of laying the foundation is best left to the hands of a professional. Hence, seek the expertise of an experienced contractor for this part of the project to ensure that the concrete slab will lay flat on the ground and the anchor bolts project properly above the concrete surface. When all these are done correctly, erecting the entire steel shed will be a breeze.

Main frame

Once the concrete foundation is laid, the next step is to assemble the main frame, which is made up of the I-beam, rafters and columns. These components are already welded, cut and punched from the manufacturing site, allowing for ease of installation. Because some of the parts are heavy, you may need to ask assistance from another person when lifting. Then, you can bolt the parts together and integrate them into the foundation following the instructions from the kit. You may also need to use proper sealants to close parts where rainwater may seep through.

Secondary frame

Now that the main frame is standing, the next step is to integrate the secondary frame which is made up of girts, frame openings and purlins. Similar to the main frame components, the parts for the secondary framing are already pre-cut and pre-punched so that you can easily match the parts together. The secondary frame will also support the loads of the wall panels and roof sheeting of your shed.

Wall Panels, and Roof Sheeting

With both the main and secondary frames in place, you can proceed working on the wall panels, roof sheeting, and insulation. You will have to install the insulation first on the sidewalls (between the girt and wall panels) before you apply the wall panels. Once the insulation and wall panels are in place, you can start integrating the roof sheet to your shed. To prevent leaks, you may have to apply weather stripping.

Final Touches

To complete your steel shed, you need to install the trims and other accessories such as windows, door, vents. The addition of trim will provide a layer of protection to your shed against rain and snow and can also improve its aesthetics. When your steel structure is complete, which you can actually accomplish within a day or two, you can start using and enjoy its service for the years to come without worrying about maintenance.

5 Most Affordable Used Car Makers

Luckily, the used car market allows many people to buy a good make without having the sometimes unachievable expense of buying new. There are many factors to consider when evaluating the affordability of a used car, such as the age, kilometres travelled, condition of the engine, and how much wear and tear there is both for the interior and exterior of a car. Based on cars that are mechanically sound and in good all-round condition, here are the 5 most affordable used car makes.

Toyota

Toyota is the first manufacturer on this list due to their legendary reputation of having cars that simply don’t die. Whether you’re looking at one of their tough Hilux or Landcruiser models with unbreakable diesel engines, the family favourite Camry, or the P Plate popular Corolla, Toyota build cars that are made to last. While certainly not the cheapest brand new, there are always plenty of them on the used car market. If you don’t mind purchasing an older model, you will be rewarded with a quality car that is affordable to buy, maintain and run.

Honda

Another make with a reputation for being a stickler for quality is Honda. Their attention to detail and thoughtful build design makes them a great car to pick up second hand. The Civic is one of the most popular quality small cars around on the used car market, while those needing more room can consider the Accord sedan, or Honda’s flagship SUV, the compact and fun to drive CR-V.

Hyundai

While many people associate Hyundai with the old Excel, their recent releases have been an astounding success. With the i20 and i30 dominating the small car standings, the iLoad impressing van fans, and the Accent and Sonata making a name as quality sedans, Hyundai have become an industry leader in just a few years. While caution is advised if you’re looking at older models, picking up one of their newer releases second-hand is definitely a great way to get a bargain. Hyundai’s impressive styling and quality interior design are matched with unexpected performance, which all combines to give you a great package at a very reasonable price.

Subaru

When it comes to great safety features, good build quality and exciting performance, it’s impossible to go past Subaru. Across the entire range, there are cars that will suit almost every need and budget. However, when looking at buying a second-hand Subaru, steer clear of any which do not have a fully documented service history. The boxer engines require regular and quality maintenance, and if this has been neglected you could find yourself spending far more money on repairs than you did on purchasing the car. With a little caution, buying a used Subaru can be the best value for money second-hand car you can get.

Mitsubishi

With many popular models such as the comfortable family sedan Magna, the nippy small Mirage hatch, and the tough Triton ute, Mitsubishi has a lot to offer in the used car market. Older models will be the most affordable, with most of the newer cars holding their value for many years after first purchase. As with Toyota, if you don’t mind picking up an older model, you will easily find a Mitsubishi to suit your needs.

These manufacturers constantly release new models, and in turn, the used car market benefits from an influx of quality second-hand cars that are affordable and reliable. It’s always a case of ‘Buyer Beware’ when getting a used car, however if you purchase from a reputable source and always have your mechanic check the vehicle over, you can end up with a real bargain.
